Scripture about Jesus

Jesus Christ is arguably the most controversial figure in all human history. For this reason, many have distorted His remarkable life and His extraordinary claims. Congratulations on your interest in exploring the real Jesus here at Jesus4real.com

The Life and Claims of Jesus

To truly learn about the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, go to the actual source. Grab a Bible and read the Gospel of John - found as the 4th book in the New Testament. If you prefer, you can read Matthew, Mark or Luke - the other three Gospel accounts of the life of Jesus which are located at the beginning of the Bible's New Testament.

Jesus is God's only Son & truly is God

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."  John 1:1, 14

Jesus said, "I and the Father are one." John 10:30

Jesus said, "Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me?" John 14:10

"Simon Peter answered, 'You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.'" Matthew 16:16

"Thomas said to HIm, 'My Lord and my God!" John 20:28

"The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for HIm. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. And He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything He might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him," Colossians 1:15-19a

"For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form," Colossians 2:9

"...while we wait for the blessed hope - the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ," Titus 2:13

"In your relationship with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to HIs own advantage; rather, He made Himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to death - even death on a cross!" Philippians 2:5-8

"In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by HIs Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom also He made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of HIs being, sustaining all things by His powerful word." Hebrews 1:1-3a

"For to us a child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6

Jesus performed many miracles which support His Divinity

"When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to Him (Jesus), and He drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick." Matthew 8:16

"For He (Jesus) had healed many, so that those with diseases were pushing forward to touch Him. Whenever the impure spirits saw HIm, they fell down before Him and cried out, 'You are the Son of God.'" Mark 3:10,11

"And they were all amazed at the greatness of God." Luke 9:43

"Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written." John 21:25

Jesus came to be our Savior (the One who saves us)

"He Himself bore our sins on His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed." 1 Peter 2:24

"For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God." 1 Peter 3:18a

"For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures..." 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

"Therefore He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him," Hebrews 7:25a

Jesus offers us eternal life in Heaven

"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on them." John 3:36

"Very truly I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life." John 5:24

"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in Me will never die. Do you believe this?'" John 11:25

"And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." 1 John 5:11-13
